Amanda is a senior at Christopher Newport University (Newport News, VA) and a Leadership Development Consultant for HCP Consulting Group. Her background is in Psychology and Leadership Studies with specific schooling in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Women’s Leadership, Values Leadership, and Organizational Change.

Amanda has traveled extensively to countries such as the Czech Republic, the United Arab Emirates, China, Japan, Viet Nam, Brazil, South Africa, Costa Rica, the UK, etc. She studied at Harris Manchester College, Oxford University, for two weeks in 2007, attended the 2008 Women as Global Leaders Conference in Dubai, and sailed on Semester at Sea for her 2008 fall semester. Her travels and background in Leadership Studies have given her a unique understanding of the diversity of leadership all around the world.

Amanda’s current focus is on Young Women’s Leadership and she has started a personal and professional leadership development program called the Young Women’s Leadership Series. It is a six-course program designed to help young women learn and develop the life skills and leadership knowledge necessary in the facilitation of their navigation through personal and professional endeavors.

At Christopher Newport University, Amanda is part of many organizations including the President’s Leadership Program, the Multicultural Student Association, and the Student Government Association’s Elections Board Committee. She is an active volunteer within the Newport News community, giving her time to the Hidenwood Retirement Community, the Peninsula SPCA, and the Food Bank of the Virginia Peninsula.
