Background
Wendy
is a quality and environmental management professional with over 20 years
experience in chemical and many other industries.
She was employed by BASF Corporation where she held a variety of
positions in both plant and corporate areas, her most recent being
Director of Quality for the Corporation.
Her responsibilities included managing the quality process for the
diverse businesses and services of BASF in North America, as well as
representing
North America
in BASF’s worldwide quality efforts.
Wendy also was key in Corporate efforts relating to Responsible
Care® and ISO 14001 management systems, and was instrumental in assisting
one of the business groups achieve the first RC14001 certification in the
world. Wendy later worked as a
Senior Consultant in the areas of quality and environmental management
systems and auditing, and in addition, conducted accredited training on
these and related topics. Before
joining STR-Registrar LLC, where she conducted numerous audits in a wide
variety of industries, she also gained additional experience in the
pharmaceutical industry as Director of Quality Assurance for a specialty
pharmaceutical company.
Specialties
Wendy has extensive auditing and management systems
development and implementation experience, both in quality and
environmental health & safety/Responsible Care.
She has also conducted a multitude of training sessions on a wide
variety of subjects such as auditing, quality tools & techniques, and
team building. Additionally,
she has been a requested speaker at numerous conferences and organizations
on topics such as management systems, Responsible Care, auditing, and
benchmarking.
Credentials
Wendy is very active in the American Society for
Quality (ASQ), having served as a member of the ASQ’s Board of Directors
and is a former member of its Ethics Committee.
Additionally,
she is an ASQ Certified Quality Manager, a Fellow of the ASQ, and
Past-Chair of its Quality Audit Division (QAD). For outstanding leadership, Wendy was
presented the 2001 QAD Quality Auditor of the Year award.
She has held several leadership positions within the American Chemistry
Council (ACC). As Chair of the
ACC's Responsible Care Certification Task Group, she led the development
of the new combined Responsible Care and ISO 14001 standard,
“RC14001”.
Wendy served five years as a member of the RAB’s Auditor
Certification Board.
She is an ASQ Certified Quality Auditor and an RABQSA Certified QMS
Lead Auditor.
